Chrissy Kind
Chair of the Board
Chrissy is a resident of Glenside, a mother to Philip, Andrew, and Tess, and a member of Epiphany Fellowship in North Philadelphia. Chrissy graduated from American University in Washington D.C. with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1978. She has been a trustee of the Patricia Kind Family Foundation for eighteen years and served as Managing Trustee for the past two years. The mission of the Foundation is to financially support non-profit organizations that help children, adults, and seniors obtain food, shelter, clothing, education, and physical and mental health care. The Foundation is especially committed to helping individuals and families who struggle daily with the effects of poverty. Chrissy volunteers in the Philadelphia School District at Duckrey Public School and serves at Epiphany Fellowship with the children’s ministry. One of her favorite Scripture passages is Isaiah 58 where the Lord encourages us to care for the poor and the needy. Chrissy, a close friend of Alfred & Nancy, played an important role in the founding of Anaweza. When Alfred & Nancy shared with her about their vision to create a brighter future for the vulnerable children in Kenya, Chrissy embraced it with both hands.
